We’re pleased to announce that reducing service to carry out and delivery only for two weeks—paired with testing team members across our locations—has allowed us to fully reopen dining rooms at Zio’s! We’re pleased to share that the individual who had tested positive for Covid-19 is doing well, and no other employees tested positive for the virus.
That being said, we are still taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, including wearing masks and sanitizing tables and equipment regularly. Thanks for sticking with us during these strange times—we’re happy to be back and serving our neighbors.
Hey Omaha Neighbors,
As you know, our team has recently had an employee test positive for Covid-19. After talking with local officials at the Health Department, conferring with staff, and restructuring schedules to accommodate employees who need to be tested for their own safety, all stores are following new protocol.
Effective for the next two weeks, all locations will be happy to serve you through delivery (using DoorDash), curbside, and takeout methods only. This ensures we have time to properly sanitize all stores and that staff who are able to come to work can do their jobs safely and effectively. Hours will be altered slightly as well, with all locations ready to serve you 11:30–7:00, Sun.–Thurs. and 11:30–8:00, Fri. and Sat. We do this in the hopes that we can best safeguard the health of our employees and customers.
We will remain in conversation with the Health Department, and our desired date to reopen dining rooms is in two weeks on August 1. Should we have more updates, we’ll be sure to post them here. Thank you again and as always for your support. We’re truly blessed with the best community.
The Dodge St. location was deep cleaned throughout the afternoon and early evening and professionally sanitized this morning. Now, we’re open to serve you again, but it’s our mission to be as upfront as possible during these strange times to help protect the people we care about most: our Omaha family.
If you have any further questions, please speak with the manager on duty.
Our Dodge St. location is closed for the remainder of the day.
Unfortunately, we had an employee test positive for Covid-19. Our support is with this employee as they recover, and in the interest of transparency, we want to share our plan of action moving forward.
First of all, our Dodge location will be closed until tomorrow for deep cleaning and sanitizing.
While all Zio’s employees are required to wear masks, all individuals who came into contact with the affected employee will also be tested.
Our main priority is always the safety of our customers, and open, honest communication is the only way to keep our community healthy.
As there is no crossover between employees from store to store, our other three locations remain open and happy to serve you.
If you visited our Dodge St. location within the last two weeks and have noticed symptoms, please take care of yourself by getting tested.
We’re all in this together.
If you have questions, please reach out to us via a private message on our Facebook page and we’ll do our best to keep you well informed. And as always, thank you for supporting Zio’s.
With state officials around the country setting target dates for economic reopening, Zio’s wanted to make sure we had all necessary safety measures fully in place to protect our staff and our guests before reopening. Now, thanks to the hard work of our staff and some help from our neighbors at Nebraska’s Hands & Feet (donate to their mask-making efforts at PayPal using the email firstname.lastname@example.org), all Zio’s dining locations are officially open once again. We will continue curbside service and delivery through our third-party partners to facilitate orders for those who prefer to eat at home.
We love our Omaha community, and we want everyone to remain safe and healthy. If you’re medically able to do so, please consider supporting your favorite local restaurants and businesses upon reopening. We need that support now more than ever, and staff who are returning to work are counting on customers like you so they can get back to business as usual—or at least as usual as it can be. Whether you buy some gift cards to use later or come in to see us for lunch, we hope you’ll continue to choose Zio’s as your primary pizza provider while we’re all continuing to deal with the sacrifices necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the store nearest you. Thank you for your continued support.
